ezTask Blog: All things technology!
3 Reasons to Get a Website this Summer
May 15 2013 - 11:55:00 am
It's almost time for summer vacation, and you know what that means...it's a perfect time to take a look at your website! While the kids are away, you have a great opportunity to revamp your current website or start brand new. Here are three of our favorite reasons to jump on the bandwagon:

1. Improved Communication
By utilizing blogs, calendars, teacher websites, and campus websites, you can ensure that parents are always in the loop. It is an unfortunate reality that mom's and dad's are often too busy to keep up with what is happening in their student's classrooms. With a convenient, mobile-ready website, parents can be sure they never miss a beat.

2. Classroom Enrichment
There is no doubt about the fact that we live in an endlessly technical world. Students embrace technology at home, and they will be forced to adopt all levels of technology if they choose to pursue higher education. The earlier they can become familar learning with the assistance of technology, the better off they will be. Online homework assignments, interactive blogs, and other uses of your website in the classroom can really create depth of learning.

3. Community Involvement and Support
By providing the community with online information such as calendars, sports schedules, and press releases, you empower them to be involved with your district and schools. Students need the support of the community, and local residents will take pride in their participation.

Summer is one of the best times to get started with an ezTask website. We can have you up and running in record time! We pride ourselves on rapid web development with our ez10Step Process
Make like a University and "Pin It!"
May 08 2013 - 05:04:00 am

ezTask and Pinterest Universities are beginning to take advantage of Pinterest for its collaborative and curatorial potential, among other things. While Pinterest developers require users to be at least 13, high school students are fair game. Teachers can use this --the fastest growing social media platform yet-- in ways similar to universities, resulting in a more engaging and enriching classroom experience.

Teachers of all grade levels can make meaningful use of Pinterest professionally, as one of the largest uses for the site includes classroom ideas and tips for educators. The "virtual pin boards" are great venues for sharing everything from classroom decor ideas to tips on conveying abstract concepts to students.

Personally, we LOVE Pinterest! It's got everything from great DIY project how-to's to fashion and culture. As far as social media goes, it's by far the most productive and pragmatic. It's also easy to use and very entertaining. While Facebook and Twitter have somewhat limited classroom use due to their one or two-dimensional nature, Pinterest is a world of possibilites for educators.

Upgrades Continue this Weekend
May 02 2013 - 09:17:00 am
Maintenance on the ezTask network will occur again this weekend. The ezTask network infrastructure is being upgraded at Rackspace; we are moving to a more powerful, gigabit network and new web servers that will provide additional redundancy in case of failure. This is great news!

Maintenance Window: starting at 10pm Friday, May 3rd - 10pm Sunday, May 5th (this is the maximum window and will most likely be completed within 24hrs or less).

How this maintenance will affect you:
  • Your website will remain available to your visitors without disruption during the upgrade
  • You will not be able to login and make changes to your website during the upgrade
  • No changes will be made to the ezTask software

Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we assure you that the upgrades are well worth the wait!
